About Quest Donate

Initially established in 2002 by current President Rebecca Atkins and founding members, Jaimee Henderson and Tony Di Grande, Quest Equine Welfare Inc. continues to grow in its achievements in improving and promoting equine welfare in Australia.

Quest operates a care facility where hands on rehabilitation is provided to neglected and/or 'at risk' equines. Horses, ponies and donkeys that have been surrendered into the care of Quest often arrive with complex, acute, and chronic health conditions. They also often display the various psychological and behavioural disturbances that commonly manifest in animals that have suffered from neglect, maltreatment or abuse.

Quest provides necessary and ancillary care to each animal based upon their individual needs and best possible outcome, rather than the associated cost of care. Our aim is to offer all ongoing treatment, care and comfort to these animals, in order that they regain their physical and psychological health and well being in a timely manner.

All attention and treatment is provided by Quest carers and other allied equine health professionals. That is to say, no animals are fostered out to other persons during the rehabilitative phase of their management.

Quest is also committed to raising awareness of, and educating the general community regarding the factors that commonly contribute to equine welfare problems in Australia.

Our current objectives focus on:

  • Improving owner education and accountability for overall animal health, husbandry, breeding and handling of equines in their care;
  • Promoting community advocacy for all equines, and
  • Elevating the status of equines to that of companion animals in the minds of the wider community.

It is envisaged that the above initiatives will assist in promoting positive changes to the lives of equines in this country.

Making a bequest is a wonderful way to help support Quest in continuing its commitment to improving the lives of equines in Australia. Quest will respect the purpose for which your generous gift was made, and ensure that its use is congruent with our stated objectives.

It is quite simple to include a bequest in your will, however it is recommended that you seek professional legal advice to ensure that your wishes are clear and meet with statuary legal requirements. It is also advisable that you inform your family members of your intentions when making a special provision or bequest to Quest Equine Welfare Inc.

Thank you for considering making a gift to Quest Equine Welfare Inc. in your will.

I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."
Etienne de Grellet
