Poor girl! As if she doesn't have enough to worry about, Bella has now somehow managed to damage her mouth :( She has broken away a corner section of her lower jaw, two teeth attached.

Jude anaesthetises Bella's gum prior to removing the section.
Thankfully, these teeth are deciduous (baby) teeth. Jude expects that Bella's gum will heal well, and that her adult teeth will, more than likely, emerge normally.

Bella is enjoying a few weeks out at our Sanctuary.
She's getting some excellent grazing, room to move, and some time-out to 'be a horse'.

Bella returned home here to Carinya Park today, in readiness for her to be collected by her new adopting mum! Bella has been offered an exceptional home with an extremely experienced horsewoman, who also has a very big heart. More news on that to come.
Bella's time at our Sanctuary has done her a power of good, as we knew it would. She has continued to blossom on purely good grazing, despite her chronic mouth issues. has developed some muscle, and has had an incredible growth spurt over the past few weeks! Here is Bella arriving today.
Hey kids...do NOT get on the ground like this around your horses at home. This person was sitting on the ground, and Bella came over to her. The person should have stood up!

Bella was collected today by her new mum, and settled in at her new home. She apparently travelled really well, and took the change of environment calmly in her stride. Here she is settling in at Rosemary's :)
Our sincerest appreciation to Rosemary for taking in this very special girl, and for making a long term and permanent committment to Bella's future well-being. Rosemary is not sure at this point as to whether she will ever have Bella started under saddle, but she is dedicated to giving Bella the best of care, including regular check-ups and maintainance of Bella's dental status. What a beautiful home Bella has won herself, and no less than she deserves :)

Dear Bella had a serious bout of colic a few days ago, and we were of course all worried sick about her.
She has come through it well however, and Bella's mum was kind enough to forward us a photo of her to put our minds at rest.
