Foxy II
HOMED
ASB name 'Foxymoron'
8yo Bay Mare D.O.B: 8.10.02 By DANETRICE from KEPALIMAAN
Foxy has spent the past few years as a broodmare. She is in rough paddock condition, but even so, it's clear that she's a real 'diamond in the rough'. She is a beautifully put together mare, who will be an absolute knock-out once she is improved in condition and coat. Foxy is definitely worth getting going under saddle again!

Dentist day for the beautiful Foxy.
It became apparent when putting the gag on Foxy that she has been ear-twitched in the past, so some work needed there in handling her ears and reassuring her that no body's going to hurt them. Esther found a way to put the gag on her while completely avoiding touching her ears, and Foxy was an absolute angel throughout her treatment.
Esther did a little bit of work, but generally Foxy's teeth are in good condition and she has a great bite.
As always, sincere thanks and appreciation to our wonderful Equine Dentist Esther Davis.

Morning snooze with her girls... Amber & Joy

Back in September we took Foxy to our Sanctuary for some 'time out'. Foxy had no health issues and we thought it would do her good to have some space and be with the 'herd' for a few weeks, prior to be sent for assessment as a riding horse. Here the stunning girl is.. enjoying some wide open spaces :)

Well Foxy is still out at the Sanctuary, has lost all of her winter coat, and now has a sheen on her like burnt copper. Just stunning. She has done very well out there on just pasture alone.
We are in two minds as to where to go to from here with the girl. This lovely 9 year old mare has a lot going for her, (but is still a very spooky young lady). Quest does not have the funds available at present to get Foxy an education, so we may set about seeking a home for the girl who can provide that for her. Upon Foxy's surrender to Quest, her surrendering owner told us that she thinks Foxy was broken to saddle, but she never raced, and we cannot know for certain what Foxy's history is. Getting Foxy an education may well mean having her started under saddle from scratch.

GREAT news for Foxy... here she is on arrival at her NEW HOME!

Foxy has found her perfect match :)
Foxy's new mum, Amy, is an experienced horsewoman who has a good grasp of Foxy's status as a bit of an 'unknown' and is looking forward to starting from scratch with the beautiful girl - each of them learning about each other along the way. We are exceptionally grateful to Amy for providing Foxy with this opportunity, and the commitment she has made to her new girl.
Welcome to the special group of people Amy who act upon their concern for the welfare of equines, and who take in a horse who has found him/herself on the 'scrap heap' of the horse world, through no fault of their own. Thank you also for sharing your photos with all who have become so attached to this stunning girl, and who have an interest in her future.
Our deep appreciation also to those who have contributed towards Foxy's care during her time with us through our Horse Sponsorship program.
