Lucy is one of a group of mares and foals who were rescued from a paddock near Bridgewater (Vic.).

Well today we felt confident enough in Lucy's strength to move her the short distance to her new foster home. My friend Rhonda has very kindly agreed to care for Lucy for the time-being, (along with Cherish and her foal Astraea also), as we are full at my property. Lucy is in very good hands with Rhonda, and is only five minutes down the road from us, so we will be staying in regular contact. (Dawn is already back at the shelter, and we will be transporting Harmony and her foal Wish there today also).
Lucy's a very lovable girl, and you do really give your heart to them when they have suffered so much...but...VERY happy to know that she has gone to a brilliant, and very loving home for the period of her rehabilitation. At this stage Rhonda is happy to care for Lucy on a long term basis, until at least Lucy has made a full recovery. Rhonda will consider Lucy's long term future and the possibility of her re-homing at that point.
